Ofsted full of praise for Logic Studio School

Following our recent inspection, Ofsted inspectors were full of praise for Logic Studio School, confirming that it has been firmly established as a ‘Good’ school with ‘Outstanding’ features.  Students’ behaviour was deemed outstanding, alongside our “Personal Development and Welfare”. The report highlights the high standards which have been achieved in a relatively short space of time since our opening in 2016. ‘Leadership and Management’ was also graded as  ‘Outstanding’ and Ofsted praised the “highly committed and reflective” Senior Leadership team for spearheading this growth.  According to inspectors, the school has established a strongly supportive and ambitious environment” and one which has the “highest aspirations for the pupils and students in their care.”

The inspectors were impressed with students’ attitude to learning, saying that they “work very hard and have high aspirations for their future lives.  Praising their “outstanding” behaviour, students were said to be “very proud of their school”, reflected in “the mature way they approach their studies”.   Our “tight-knit and inclusive community”  and “quiet, calm and productive environment”, is a culture which is enhancing progress.  Students in the sixth form were seen as working “conscientiously and industriously” both in lessons and in self-directed study time and “act as excellent role models for younger pupils.”

Ofsted particularly noted that “exemplary relationships between staff and pupils result in an intensive learning culture.” and staff were further praised for the strength of their teaching, which means students approach learning  “ diligently and with highly positive ‘can do’ attitudes”.  According to the report, they are well-prepared for the next stage of their education and receive “high calibre” careers advice, enrichment opportunities and cultural opportunities to enable them to lead successful lives in modern Britain. Links with local businesses, employers and higher education providers were commented on as  “very strong”. Our specialist curriculum “engages learners…and links with employers lead to meaningful internships, work experience and project-based learning”.

Another area singled out for praise was the school’s positive reputation in the local community and parents’ pride in their child’s school.  According to inspectors parents were overwhelmingly positive about the quality of education and how well staff look after students.

All of us at Logic Studio School are delighted with the outcome of the inspection and that two experienced HMI inspectors stated that they would happily send their own children to our school is a sentiment that our students, our staff and our community should be very proud of.

Jay Lockwood, Principal of Logic Studio School said:

“We are delighted with this feedback from Ofsted. It recognises the many outstanding aspects of our school and how ambitious we are for our community. As inspectors have seen, our staff work incredibly hard to deliver an education that inspires students to become academically successful but equally importantly opens doors to wider experiences that gives them confidence and enable them to thrive in the future economy. The report is a credit to our  students, who come to school each day eager to learn, succeed and progress. Likewise, this outcome would not have been possible without the support of our parents, governors and business supporters.”

Victoria Eadie CEO Tudor Park Education Trust said:

“Congratulations to all of our staff and students.  OFSTED recognised the outstanding work of Logic. They were full of praise for this specialist 14-19 provision and agreed that our vision for excellence in preparing young people for their future careers was apparent in everything that they saw.  A great place to study and a great place to work.”
